Ghastly Ghouls Blog Hop -- My Day

I'm so happy to be participating in another wonderful blog hop, this time hosted by Carol at Just Let Me Quilt.

Here's the list of today's participants:

OCTOBER 20
Scrapdash
Homespun Hannah's Blog
Elizabeth Coughlin Designs (me)
Karrin’s Crazy World

****************************

The theme for this hop is obvious; Halloween! Last year for the Halloween Hoppers Blog Hop, I created this Vampire Mug Rug:

This year, I decided to make a pal for the vampire; Frankenstein's monster! Like most people, I erroneously refer to this character as "Frankenstein," when in reality that's the name of his creator. But, I'll continue the faux pas and call him "Frankenstein" since that's how we all know him!

So, here's my Frankenstein Mug Rug:

It measures 9" x 12" and is sewn up in National Nonwovens WoolFelt and DMC embroidery floss. The purple background is the same color as the Vampire Mug Rug, it just photographed differently.

If you'd like to make one for yourself or a spooky pal of your own, here's the link to the FREE pattern.

I love to read your comments and will reply via email unless you are a No Reply Blogger.

Finally, be sure to visit everyone participating in this great hop!

  1. You made a perfect match for your vampire mug rug with the Frankenstein mug rug. His eyes tell me he is plotting some kind of mischief :)

  8. Yes we all seem to have morphed into calling the monster Frankenstein. He is a perfect friend for your Count Dracula. Since you make these in wool felt, how do you wash them? By hand? Do they shrink a lot? I was afraid to make felt mug rugs because of the washing issue. Thanks Elizabeth.

  13. I've always been a fan of Frankie, so this is my kind of thing. So cute!! I do forget that he has no name, just Frankenstein's monster or creature. Still, he'll always be Frankie to me! Thanks for sharing him with us.
