Winter Blues Blog Hop

I'm happy to be back after a needed, long break. I was feeling very unmotivated and uninspired, but now I'm raring to go! I'm also happy to be participating in another great hop brought to us by Carla from Creating in the Sticks

Here's the list today's participants:

I have two projects to share with you today.

During my creative hiatus, I decided to try a new craft. It's a craft that allows me to create something, but not have to think too creatively while doing it lol. The craft is known as "Pin Loom Weaving". I purchased a small loom called "Zoom Loom,"

which creates perfect little 4" woven squares.

The squares are then joined together by one of several methods (I used an overcast stitch), to make whatever project you like. I made a scarf for a dear friend's birthday, and it's blue so I'm sharing it with you in this hop. I wove 24 squares to make the scarf. My friend doesn't like wool near her skin, so I made it from acrylic yarn. The loom definitely works better with wool yarn, the acrylic got a bit stiff as the weave progressed. But I'm very pleased with how it turned out, and she loved it.

My second project is a WoolFelt appliqued piece I'm calling "Morning Glory Candle Mat." It measures 11" and is very quick and easy to stitch up.

If you'd like to make one of your own, here's the link the FREE pattern.
