Where Flowers Bloom Blog Hop

A big thanks to Carla (Creatin' in the Sticks) for bringing us this hop!
Here's the list of today's participants:

I have two projects to share with you. The first is something I designed for National Nonwovens using their new WoolFelt color line called "In Harmony."

It's a round candle mat measuring 12", and it uses all the colors in the new line. Since it has a floral theme, I thought it appropriate to share it in this hop:

The free pattern for this project can be found here.

I made the second project specifically for this hop. I really love English Paper Piecing but have only used hexagons when I've done it in the past. For this project, I used three different shapes. It was really fun to figure out how they all worked together.

Here's a color mock-up of the configuration that I used:

After sewing all the shapes together, I appliqued the unit onto fabric and made it into a pillow. The fabric is my own yellow gingham design, and is available in my Spoonflower shop.

So here's the finished piece, which I'm calling "Blooms Pillow":

If you'd like to make your own, here are the templates for the shapes. You'll have to print the template page on card stock once for each of the bloom units (four times total). The .pdf file also contains the color illustration shown above. The pillow itself was made with two 16.5" pieces of fabric, with a finished size of approximately 16".

Thanks so much for visiting and commenting. I will reply to all comments here on the blog, since we are, unfortunately, no longer receiving email notifications of replies through Blogger.

Be sure to visit everyone else in the hop:

Free Project!

National Nonwovens kindly sent me samples of their latest color line, "In Harmony," so I created another free project! It uses all the colors and is quick to stitch up.

The candle mat measures 12" round, and features colorful tulips!

The free pattern can be downloaded HERE.
Enjoy!
