A big thanks to Marian from Seams To Be Sew for bringing us another fun hop...even while dealing with a big move!
Here's the list of today's participants:
When I saw the directive for this hop...to use a fabric other than cotton in our project...I knew it was right up my alley. I work primarily with National Nonwovens WoolFelt when creating my designs. For those of you not familiar with wool felt, here's a link to check out. If you want to know how wool felt differs from felted wool, here's a bit of information about that. And here's the link to Commonwealth Felt, the retailer for National Nonwovens WoolFelt.
Now, on to my project. I took the theme of the hop "A Fresh Snow" quite literally, and designed this wool felt mug rug/candle mat. I'm calling it "Snowball Mug Rug."
It measures 9" x 9", is quick to sew up, and just uses two colors of wool felt and two colors of embroidery floss. You can find the FREE pattern here.
Here it is in action under a pitcher with some greenery, pine cones, and a fun Warren Kimble Snowman Platter:
I hope you enjoy making it!
I have one other project to share with you. My eldest niece Julianna (Anna) recently graduated college, got a job, and moved out on her own. And, she adopted an adorable dog named Elaine.
Right before Christmas, she asked me to make personalized wool felt stockings for both her and Elaine. Since I didn't have enough time to design something original, I purchased a fun pattern and then made a few changes to it. I used fewer stars than the pattern, and added cuffs, and their names. My niece was very happy with the results, and I hope Elaine is too!
Here's a picture of both stockings.
Thanks for coming by. Be sure to leave a comment and enter today's giveaway:
