Eerie Nights Blog Hop!

For my project, I decided to do something small and eerie. What I came up with is this Spider Rug Mug:
It combines paper piecing and embroidery and comes together fairly quickly.

The block side is a wonky log cabin pattern:
And the embroidery side is sewn in a simple back stitch, with an appliqued WoolFelt body for the spider:

    It's interesting that when I see a stitched spider web next to a log cabin, I finally see the connection between the two blocks traditional blocks (the pieced spider web block and the log cabin block). Until I saw your stitchery, I didn't really think of the log cabin in that way. I hope log cabin blocks don't seem creepy to me from now on. ;)
