The theme of this blog hop is your personal fairy tale(s). What would make your dreams come true? What would be your happily ever after?

The answer was easy for me to arrive at. My husband is going to retire in few years, and when that happens we've long dreamed and planned to move to Cape Cod, Massachusetts. (We currently live in central Massachusetts, so it won't be that far of a move.)

Now, even though we're talking about fairy tales, I'm realistic enough to know that we'll never be able to afford a house near the water. Luckily you're never too far from the ocean no matter where you live on the Cape. It'll only be a short drive to scenes like this:

So, drum roll, here's my project, my Cape Cod Fairy Tale.

It's a  17" x 17" WoolFelt wall hanging, sewn with embroidery floss. I've added French knot accents on the Hydrangea bushes, a very prevalent shrub on Cape Cod. I've also included a lighthouse in the distance, gulls in the sky, and sail boat on the water. It's not an exact depiction of where we'll end up, but it certainly conveys the dream!

It will hang in my husband's home office, where he's been working since the start of the pandemic. Hopefully it inspires him to keep dealing with the all the unpleasant work stuff for a few more years!

  8. The wool house scene is beautiful! Sometimes we need to just make art of those things we cannot afford, like castles, ocean view home, another country, a larger sewing studio, lol, etc. we can always dream! Good luck with your move.
