Christmas in July (then and now) Blog Hop

A big thanks to Carol at Just Let Me Quilt for bringing us this hop!

Here's the list of today's participants:

The theme of this hop is "then and now" so I want to first show a couple of past projects (circa 2013). I've always loved poinsettias as a holiday motif/decoration, and have created a few designs using them. First, is a table mat/penny rug pattern I designed called "Potted Poinsettia Party":

The mat is made from wool felt and cotton fabric, and measures 16". It has button accents on the centers of the poinsettias. The pattern is available for purchase in my Etsy shop.

The second project was a free one that I created to compliment the table mat. It's called "Poinsettia Gift Tag Ornaments," and the free pattern is still available for anyone who wants to make some.

And now for the now lol. For this hop, I created another poinsettia design. This one is also an ornament, but can also be used as a coaster, hence the name "Poinsettia Coasters/Ornaments." Here they are as coasters:

And here is one hung as an ornament:

This pattern is my giveaway to you all, and you can download it here.

  5. I too love Poinsetta's - I never had much luck here in Indiana getting them to bloom a second time, however, we wintered in Florida - and it was getting ready to turn red again in April!! Love yours! Thanks for sharing

  20. So beautiful Elizabeth, I love poinsettia's especially at Christmas. The white ones are my favorite, but I also love the red ones and those with that little hint of pink to them also. So precious. I've added the one to my cart, and thank you for the free pattern. I'll check out in a few days. Many Hugs!!
