I'm so happy to be participating in another fun challenge, this time brought to us by Carol at Just Let Me Quilt.
Here's the list of today's participants:
OCTOBER 23
Elizabeth Coughlin Designs (me)

I decided to take a different approach to the Halloween theme this year. Instead of spiders, ghosts, bats, etc., how about a dozen donuts?
They look good enough to eat, and are in Halloween-inspired colors. Luckily for me, since I no longer eat donuts, they're not real. Instead of baking, I stitched these up with embroidery floss and wool felt. It was a good project to use up some more wool felt scraps.
I used this template to make the donuts.
Most of the donuts have sprinkles; some with black icing:
Purple icing:
Green icing:
And orange icing:
And a couple with white icing and spider webs:
They add some Halloween vibes to my kitchen counter, for sure!

Oh what cute donuts! very festive.
ReplyDeleteOh Elizabeth, those look scrumptious!!! I don't eat donuts either anymore, but those sure look real and good enough to eat! LOL! I don't know if I could keep them on my counter without being tempted to take a bite! At least there is no sugar or carbs in those donuts ;0)
ReplyDeleteExactly! But they are tempting lol.
DeleteYour donuts are wonderful! Such a clever idea! Did you stuff them as you stitched the top and bottom together? Or did you wait until you were almost finished? Thanks for sharing your fun holiday decorations!
ReplyDeleteThanks so much! I stitched around the center hole first. Then I stuffed them a bit when I was about halfway done stitching around the outside. The final half of stuffing was done through a small opening before I finished.
DeleteBest Halloween treat ever and calorie free. They are absolutely adorable. I really need to make some of these.
ReplyDeleteThanks so much Joan! They were really fun, and a great way to use up scraps. You could do them in different colors for different holidays/seasons too.
DeleteThey are so cute and fat free, the best.
ReplyDeleteExactly, thanks!
