Some fun ornaments

My friend Suzanne asked me to make a mini version of my Yo-Yo Sheep to be used as ornaments. I made her a set of three. The picture's a little dark, but they're cute!

A New Pattern

Here's the latest addition to my line of Yo Yo patterns. It's a prim sheep that can be used on a table, or hung on a wall (by adding a purchased hanger).

Available on my Etsy site!

New Line of Patterns!

I've developed a line of patterns that combine fabric yo-yos and wool.

The Quilted Crow in Boxborough, MA will be carrying them (thanks Sue)!

Here's a link to their website:

They are also be available on my Etsy site.

Lazy Summertime

I admit, I've been pretty lazy this summer. But I finally applied myself and finished a new project. It's a needle felted sunflower that can be used as a pincushion or just admired (I hope!) As usual, it can be found in my etsy shop.

Craft Exchange Fun!

I recently participated in the Handmade Gift Exchange hosted by Linda at Craftaholics Anonymous.

My partner is a very nice and creative lady named Chrissy, from the state of Georgia.

She sent me two fun gifts, a personalized key chain wristlet and a bookmark:

And I sent her a needle felted sunflower in a hoop; my first attempt at needle felted wall art. I think it came out pretty nice!

Venturing into patterns...

I've just created my first pdf pattern/instruction pamphlet, and posted it for sale on my etsy shop. It's for a really cute needle felted bee skep:

This is an intermediate-level needle felting project, because it assumes some knowledge of needle-felting techniques and materials.

I'm focusing on Needle-Felting for awhile.

Here's a Needle-Felted Fern Pillow that I just completed.

The back is quilted; my first attempt at quilting! I think it came out pretty well.

The pillow is up on my etsy site.

Nothing says Springtime like a strawberry...

at least when it comes to food! I had a wooden candlestick and wanted to create a make-do. Since I also had red wool felt, a strawberry seemed like a season-appropriate idea.

As usual, I put it up for sale on my etsy shop!

Fun with Yo-Yos

I just love these things. Here, I've used them to make up the "wool" of a sheep for a pillow. This is now available on my etsy shop.

Exciting news!

Well for me anyway! I'm going to have my first project published in Create & Decorate! It'll be in the Fall issue, and I'll post more about it when the time comes.

March is National Craft Month!

So make something!

I'm working on several projects right now, including a dolphin pillow for my niece Adi, and two penny pillows for my parents. And as always I'm designing and creating for my Etsy site.

It's great to have a month dedicated to Crafts, but for me and many, many others, every month is craft month!

I'll take the rain...

or even the snow we had this winter. I'm grateful that here in New England it doesn't get worse than an infrequent blizzard. I feel awful for all the people in Japan and the Pacific dealing with the earthquakes and tsunamis today!

It's not Fall, but how about a pumpkin?

This is a yo-yo covered pumpkin that I just completed. It's a custom order for an Etsy customer. I just love yo-yos, don't you? The pumpkin itself is a large yo-yo that's been stuffed and then covered. The smaller yo-yos are attached with thread and a little fabric glue.

Another floral pincushion

I'm having fun with these. Here's a cheery daffodil, again made from Eco-Fi Felt.

Urging Spring Along

I doubt creating flowers will make the real ones show up sooner, but it sure made me feel better yesterday about the cold wind swirling outside. I whipped up these three pincushions. They're all made from Eco-Fi Felt, which is made from recycled plastic! Another thing to feel good about, recycling! These are on my Etsy Shop.

Come on Spring!

Signs of Spring are started to show up here in Massachusetts, despite the three feet of snow still on the ground. The tempatures are warming up, some of the time at least. Little birds are scavenging for seeds and berries in my yard. Yay I can't wait!

This felt flower wreath from Craftaholics Anonymous makes me happy just looking at it:
