Tinkled Pink Blog Hop (My Day)

Happy Valentine's Day to you all!

I'm so happy to be participating in another fun hop, this time brought to us by Carla of Creatin' in the Sticks. Here's the list of today's participants:

The theme of this hop is the color pink, and I've created a small project featuring that color. It's a 12" candle mat (or a mat for vase, or a cup of tea) that I'm calling "Pretty Polish Candle Mat." It's sewn up in woolfelt and embroidery floss, and comes together quickly.

The background is pink and the polish bottles are shades of red, purple, lavender, and magenta with blue tops. If you'd like to make one for yourself, or for a girl/lady who loves to polish her nails, here's a link to the FREE pattern.

I love to read your comments and try to reply to all of them via email, unless you are a No Reply Blogger.

Finally, be sure to visit every participating in this hop!

  1. I love your creativity Elizabeth. I don't have wool for creating, but I'm wondering how this might work with cotton. I may have to try it out. Thanks

    1. You could do it as raw-edge applique with cotton, but would have to figure out how to finish off the scallop edge. Or, you could do the same design on a circle to make it easier!

  2. Love your mat! I am allergic to would but I think it would be easy enough to just use cottons.

  13. I love this, Elizabeth. What a great gift it would make. I'm thinking if I did it in cotton, it would be a great item to protect my floor when I'm giving myself a pedicure. Thank you for the pattern!

  22. That is such a cute mat. I don't wear nail polish, but I love the little bottles. In fact I keep my Fray Block (by June Tailor) in a nail polish bottle (I bought empty) so I can paint it on stuff that might fray. Thanks for the pattern too!

  23. Very cute candle mat. I miss being able to paint my nails, or even have nails, but a big no no when working in the bakery. Sigh.
